whats the difference between this one and the reg HPDI
Per my Yamaha sales training 2 weeks ago...
1) Re-programmed ECM.
2) Recalibrated Oil Injection System. (The HPDI service bulletin did the same thing to the motors affected. It was remapped in the mid-range rpms.)
3) Newly designed forged pistons.
4) 3 year factory warranty vs. 2 year on HPDI.
Hey K.D.
Thanks for the list. I understand the feature differences, but from a consumer perspective what does that get us? Higher RPM? Improved fuel economy? Longer life? etc.
Thanks

I guess you could say it does all the things you mentioned. Yamaha's are now propped for 6K rpms, fuel economy gets better with each model and the longer life should be relected in the 3 year standard warranty.![]()
It's a win-win for consumers.
