I apologize in advance for the newbie/stupid question!
The oil tank on the side of my OX66.. What is it's purpose? Is this just a secondary tank that gets fed from the primary and feeds the pump for mixing? If so, what level should it be at? Thank you.
It is pumped in there from the one in the boat.Dont put any in it.There is also a way incase your pump doesnt work to put enough oil in it to run a few miles by a switch on the left side of the tank on the motor.
It's all automatic. There's a sensor in that tank that will cause the oil pump in the remote tank (the larger tank in the boat) to turn on and pump oil up into the main engine tank. I don't think it will fill it completely full but it should never be empty. If it is empty, then you have a sensor problem. Sometimes, removing the sensor and cleaning it will make it work like new again.
