I'm running one right now. Ive put about 57 hours on it since December (purchased new). The only issues I've had was an incorrect thrust washer was attached and the fuel pump needed replaced (Yamaha Tech Service Bulletin).
Very strong and smooth running motor. Just keep an eye on your filters!

what kinda fuel mileage do you all get with the 250. i average around 4 mpg with my 225, my new boat will have the 250 on it
depends on boat, speed and load....but I get between 3 mpg at WOT (75 mph) and 6 mpg when towing wakeboarders (< 3K rpms ~ 24 mph)

How was the incorrect thrust washwer determined??
58 hours here. No issues other than oil pump replaced as a precaution. Great running motor.
if you have a brass thrush washer , you need to get the new steel one , as I had the brass one and it had soften due to the HOT exhaust from the 3.3 and it got into my lowerunit housing... Yamaha is going to fix it though..

Lets see. Last Saturday I ran 103.65 miles (on a full tank) then put 33 gallons in it. That comes out to a little over 3 miles per gallon and I was running HARD.
I don't know where we are, but we are making darn good time.
