    Compression check

Can anyone explain the proper way to perform a compression test. I am going to look at a boat that has a 2001 Yamaha Vmax on it and I dont know if it will be convenient to get to a mechanic. Ill of course check the lower unit lube for water and metal and check the prop shaft and need to do a compression test, just never done one before. Also if anyone knows anything else to look for on this motor I would appreciate any advise.

    Re: Compression check (broz1)

I think you want all the olugs out when doing it and make sure you pull the kill lanyard.

Here is some great info for the inspection.
