    '94 200 Pro V

Looking at a rig that sports this baby---just wondered if I could get some info about her with regard to any specifics (pros/cons, bugs, quirks, etc). Never had a Hammer but have always heard good things about them. If this checks out I might have to pull the trigger on this 'ol girl!!

Its a great motor, very reliable. The only weak point is the carbs. Especially prior to '97. The idle jets were very susceptible to clogging because they sat at the very bottom of the carburetor fuel bowls and as gas evaportated over months of non-use the gum and varnish left behind would clog up the idle jets and the motor wouldn't idle for crap. So once the jets are cleaned out you have to run the motor at least every two weeks to keep the carbs cleaned out. If you didn't, you end up working on the carbs a lot. So if this motor hasn't been run in a while you can expect to have these idle problems. You have to use Sta-Bil and Sea Foam in the fuel tank to help prevent these issues.
