    Thanks,

I use Meguiars cleaner wax and Meg. flagship 3 or 4 times a year and BBS.I like BBS but dont think it actually cleans the boat like washing and waxing.Looking shiny doesnt mean its clean.

I put a base coat of 3-M marine wax on the boat and motor cowl once a year and then hit it with Bass Boat Saver on a regular basis.

Thanks for all of the replies. I have been using BBS, but I have never waxed the cowling. In the sun, you can notice some water spots that the BBS does not remove. I bet if I wax, I can remove those spots, and the BBS will keep them off.

    Thanks Again,
    David

If you have hard water spots, I have used this with great results...

50-50 mix of water and white vinegar. Spray it on the cowl and let it set for 2-5 min depending on how bad it is then wash off with wash mitt and soap. This should remove all spots the first time and if it does not it will the second time you do it...

Then put a nice coat of BBS on it. It will look like new..

    Hope that helps..

Thanks Jeff! I think I'll try that before the wax to make sure they are gone.

I use Starbrite marine wax. I alos have used 3M marine wax in the past. Both waxes work well. I wax the entire outter hull, the console, and motor.

3M Marine Paste Wax - last longer than anything else I have used. Hold up especially well in the salt.
