    Four Stroke 25 Yamaha questions

    1) When you tilt the motor up and then put it down to lower the tilt setting, the motor acts like it is flooded and requires a lot of tries to get started again. Primer bulb is still solid. Any ideas?

    2) Motor would not run proplerly. Any time you faster than idle the motor would bog down and try to die. If you blocked the air intake with your hand partially it would run better. We stuffed a sock in the intake and the motor and it would run good enough to get on plane. Are these the signs of a dirty carb. Motor had not been rund in 6 months. Any thoughts on a quick fix before I have to spend some money.

You have a lean condition probably caused by clogged jets in the carb.

Re: Four Stroke 25 Yamaha questions (tnmark)

Is there an easy way to clean? Or does the carb need to be removed? Would this be covered under warrantee?

Are you supposed to run ring free on these engines as well as bigger ones?
