    225 Vmax O2 sensor

Does anyone know the symptoms of an O2 sensor not working properly. Can they be checked? Cleaned mine with sea foam reinstalled, now I can on turn 5100RPMs, was turning 5600 before cleaning. Motor not running smooth above 4500RPMs, keeps losing RPMs.

I'd look into a new primer bulb and fuel pump diaphrams first.

You can check it to see if it is working properly here is the link. http://www.boatsetup.com/O2sensor.pdf

Did you clean the orifice tube behind the O2 sensor mounting block? That thing carbons up as much, if not worse than, the O2 sensor itself. If it's carboned up it will block exhaust flow to the O2 sensor and make the motor run like the O2 sensor is fouled as well. You have to clean both at the same time. It requires pulling the O2 sensor mounting block off (two screws...) and requires a new high heat gasket as well ($15 at the dealer...).
But yes, like Mike said, also check that your fuel primer ball isn't collapsing when this rpm reduction is taking place. How old are the fuel pumps? Can you pump the primer ball up firm with the motor not running?

Re: 225 Vmax O2 sensor (Hamfisted)

fuel pumps are less than a year old. My problem did not start until I removed the O2 sensor and cleaned. I cleaned the sensor, the block and the dumdbell.

Removed sensor and tested. Appears to be responding like it should. When I removed the sensor there was more oil (wetter) than the first time I removed it (dry).
