    Trim extenders on a 06 225 hpdi

I have had good luck with these on my 225 merc so when i needed to get a little more lift on my new boat i thought I would give it a try. The problem is that when I put them on and trim down it seems that they cause the trim rods to bind up. It seems as if the added spacers cause the tilt ram to pull too tightly against the trim arms. Anyone have any experience with these? Will they eventually settle down? Any thoughts would be great. I don't want to keep them if they are going to wear out the trim arms/rams prematurely.

I saw some the other day at BPS and did not know they made them for Yamaha so I dont know what to tell you, I am sure one of the yamaha gurus will be along to help you.

I assume by your name you have a triton? With the yamaha and the triton you do not need spacers or extenders...... the yamaha has alot of trim..... plus that hull was designed to run with the modern engines without the aid of extenders. I would not advise to it at all.

I was told not to use them at all on Yamaha.

Grease the ends of the trim rods and sides where they bind a lil' bit.... Not a biggie.

If you need more bow lift,
Have more bow lift added to your prop by Mark Croxton on the props page.... You may be a candidate for more set back also.
