    92 pro v 150 overheat ?

I have a 92 pro v 150 that i just fired up for the first time since winterizing. I check the water pressure guage and at idle it was 0 psi. I was getting a stream out of the pee hole within a few minutes the alarm sounded. I let it cool down ran it again with garden hose and removed the hose at the top of the cylinder head that goes to pressure guage. with water coming out of the pee hole there was nothing at the top of the cylinder head unless i goosed the motor. Any ideas I removed the pump looks ok but I really dont know what to look for there as i am a automotive mechanic . when i winterized it i checked that poppet to see if any debree and found nothing maybe i put something back together there wrong but dont beleive I did any help here is greatly appreciated

Was it on the garden hose when it got hot? It might run good in the lake. If it has been a couple of years since you replaced the water pump stick a new impeller in it. They get brittle and the vanes get curled in a C shape. They don't flex fast enough to pump water at idle. At idle you will have little or no water pressure, but it should have been spitting some out of the top of the cylinder head, sometimes they don't get enough water on muffs.

Use flush muffs that feed water from both sides (the type with the "Y-pipe" on it...). Not the single feed type.
Upgrade to the newly redesigned mushroom shaped pressure relief valve (p/n 60H-12416-00-00 ) and new grommet seal ( p/n 90480-20M05-00 ), and don't forget the gasket (p/n 6G5-11382-A1-00). You can get all the parts for about $10. That oughta get your water pressure back.
