98 175 EFI Mariner i have a tach that is going nuts. One minute it is reading fine at WOT, next minute it is reading 7000, the 2 yellow wires on the voltage regulator are a little black were they connect at,I only have one regulator that is hooked up should i replace the one and hook the other one up? Would this fix the tach problem?
If you have blackened bullet connectors- replace BOTH regulators, as well as any damaged bullet connectors.
