    old in-line 6 cylinder merc 115 hp parts(help don)

don,i know you remember the old in-line 6 cylinder mercs with the distributor cap, coil and rotor button.question is can you still get parts for these engines?my brother in-law has one and he is needing the coil.i talked to him today and told him to get me the serial number off of the engine.i think some of the local shade tree techs are telling him parts are no longer available and that he would need to find one of the older engines somewhere to get the parts off of.can you help.thanks

Good idea to get the details on that coil "diagnosis"... and the serial number.

Many parts are now NLA... but may be available in an aftermarket alternative (which in this case is definitely better than a bad component).
