200 EFI died running down lake

Yesterday my 2000 model 200 EFI died after about 5 minutes into a run. I immediately noticed gas running out from under the cowling. No sirens, sputtering, smoke, or any indication something was wrong. Once the boat got to the dock I was able to get the cowling off and found where the gas was coming from... it looks like an oil filter on the driver side of the motor (assuming its a fuel filter). When I pumped the bulb it would squeeze gas from the top of the cylinder. The cylinder was loose and I tightened it a whole turn and now no gas comes out from anywhere and the bulb is able to be pumped tight, however the motor still will not start. I tried it again today and still nothing. Do I have a major problem on my hands or is it something really simple that I dont see? Im not knowledgeable at all about these things so my descriptions might not be good at all but I can try to give more details if needed. Thanks

IMO, I'd check to see if the spark plugs are wet with gas and then replace them.

First and foremost.... I'd want to know HOW that filter became "loose"... and I'd be checking VERY, VERY carefully for any other potential fuel leaks. Fuel leaks carry with them the risk of fire or explosion.

Once you're 110% certain there are no leaks.... start with the BASICS:

    -Compression test
-Spark Test (including inspection of plugs- replace if needed)
-Fuel Quality, Pressure, and Delivery Tests
