I replaced the water pump on my 87 150 Black Max. All the old vanes were curve and wouldn't straighten out, After check with muffs on I have 14 psi at 1000 rpms, alot more them before, is this normal?
Also seems like the pee stream is not as strong as before. I took the water gauge line loose from the top of the motor to make sure it was getting water, and had a big stream of water squirting out.

Over the years, the replacement pumps have become SUBSTANTIALLY more efficient.
It's not uncommon to see what you're experiencing... and you'll likely find that the low-RPM water pressure settles down substantially after a couple of trips to the lake.
Some will argue with this... but I can tell you from experience, you're likely chasing a "ghost" looking for a cause (if the sudden increase occurred immediately following a complete water pump replacement).
Remember- your telltale stream comes from the THERMOSTATS. Hence, there will be LITTLE or NO telltale, until (and unless) the thermostats are OPEN.
