last time went to lake motor ran great went back the other day put boat in water motor started right up but when put in gear would not go any where checked prop it is not turning in gear motor is a older 150 black max 88 model any help would be welcomed.
Could be a problem in the control, shift cable, gearcase, OR prop hub.
Suggest:
-Check to ensure control/cable are actually MOVING the shift linkage on the port side of the engine. When shifted to forward, the slide should slide ALL THE WAY FORWARD.
-Remove prop and inspect HUB for damage/spinning.
-Sample gear lube to check for water, milky fluid, or metallic debris.
