The local dealer told me the computer wouldn't hook up to my 250xb. Is there a way to tell the hours since that's always the first question asked when it goes up for sale. Plus, I'd like to know myself.

+2 There is a different plug on the XB computer to check hours. I know because I have one and had hours tested. What Don said at +1.![]()
Thanks guys! I was hoping there was a way to check it.
In addition, have them give you the hours by rpm ranges in 1000 RPM increments. That way you can tell if the motor has been idling a lot or been beat on a lot-LOL-Not a bad thing. Might consider a leakdown test that will give you percentage loss in each cylinder. A very informative test about the overall compression health of the motor.
I had everything done back in Sept. everything checked out good when I had the annual maintenence done.....120 on all cylinders, leak down good, water pump replaced, gear oil, plugs, etc.... Just don't know the hours and rpm increments because they told me the computor wouldn't hook up. I've found someone who will check it for me. Thanks for all the input.
Glad to hear that you had many of the major "health" checks done. Curious as to the leakdown numbers on your motor? On mine, the typical range never exceeded 3% in any of the cylinders with 132 hours of operation. If all are below 5% and none exceed 10%, then you can sleep well at night. JMHO though. Hope that this input is helpful.![]()
