    T&H Hotfoot won't slide

    Hey guys,
Not sure if this is the correct forum. Here's the issue: I just bought a used z520 with a T&H hotfoot. It has a sliding hotfoot, but when I loosened the thumb screw on the port slide of the hot foot, the pedal would not slide forward. Any ideas? I noticed that the throttle cable attached to the pedal was pretty tight....I'm curious if that's what's causing it to stick in the same position??
Also, I actually removed the thumb screw when trying to slide the pedal. Now, when I try to screw it back in, it won't "catch". It's as if the hole is now too big for the screw??
    I'm stumped....any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Matt

you have to line up with the many slots on the slide part then put the screw in.

Ah, ok - thanks for letting me know about the slots.
Any ideas on why the pedal won't "slide"?

    Thanks again,
    Matt

On mine, even the least bit of grit or corrosion in the track will cause it to stick, and it has to be lined up just right and not have lateral or vertical cable tension.

+1.... and if the cable is already pulled too tight, trying to slide the hotfoot forward will likely cause the cable to BIND.

If this is the case, it may be necessary to replace the throttle cable with a (1' longer) Premium-Grade Throttle Cable.

OK, thanks guys. I will look at it this weekend. My bet is that it's the throttle cable. I will probably have to get a longer one.
