    New bass boat/old fisherman

Just purchased a Pro 165 from Bass Pro. There are a few things missing that I will have to add. Gauges, no cleats ( I do use an anchor every now & then ) and I already added short side bunk guides to the trailer ( these really help ! ).

So far I am pretty happy with it. It does seem to take a while to get on plane ( 25 hp ) maybe filling the livewell will help.
I am also amazed how much the wife likes it, now I have to reserve saturdays for her and sundays for a fishin buddy.

Welcome to BBC, Rayandrewss, and congratulations on your new fishing vessel. Enjoy every opportunity you have to use it. I doubt that adding water to the live well will help you to get on plane. Be sure to trim your motor down all the way. Whatever you do, don't let your wife catch you with your fishing buddy on a Saturday.

With a 25hp, there is a good chance that there is no power trim/tilt. If that's the case, you'll need to adjust the manual trim setting...and propeller...to reach a satisfactory compromise. Welcome to BBC!
