Low lean pop

I am having a low lean pop at idle and when in gear just idling throught the water. I noticed the pop coming from a hole behind the top carb and looks like there should be a bolt or something in there. Can you guys tell me if this is normal.

Do you actually mean to tell us that you have a popping sound at idle coming from a hole behind the carbs on your E-TEC?

Most likely there is a bolt missing, see if you can locate it in the lower motor pans and reinstall it.

Check the other bolts to be sure they are not loose also.
