I've got an 02 225 optimax with 740 hours. I had it tune up and fuel pump rebuilt. Now it is harder to start and when i put it gear it dies? but if i start it, put it neutral rev the throttle a little then put it gear it does fine. Is there something I can have done to help this dying problem?

My first list of suspects would be:
-Improper or damaged spark plugs (SHOULD be IZFR5G spark plugs ONLY).
-Improperly rebuilt pulse fuel pump (improper stacking of components, perforated diaphram(s), etc).
-Loose or improperly connected spark plug wires.

Thanks for your help. I feel it maybe Fuel pump, correct plugs and are new.
If the pump was rebuilt improperly would it still run fine at high rpm's ( which mine does )?

It might.... depends on specifically what was wrong.
