    Optimax Throttle adjustment

During recent motor work I verified that my throttle was actually moving from the idle stop to wot stop. However I noted that the throttle plate is never moving completely vertical at wot. It is stopping at ~15 degrees from vertical or has about 1/2" of movement left on the outer edge of the throttle plate. Is this normal?
The stops have never been changed from the original setup. Should I just adjust the wot stop to allow the throttle plate to swing all the way vertical?

I have also noticed that there is slop in the throttle cam on its mounting stud. I don't know if they come that way or if it is the result of wear. I can rock the throttle cam some and it affects the throttle plate setting.

"Some" play in the cam plate is normal. Updated cam plate kits are available.... and recommended if TPS faults or mismatches are occurring.

    When checking WOT position:

    Disconnect throttle cable at engine.

MANUALLY advance throttle arm (ENGINE OFF, PLEASE) to the WOT position. While holding arm against the WOT stop... see if the roller will move away from the cam "further". There should be APPROXIMATELY 1/16" of additional travel before the throttle plate stop contacts the throttle plate (this additional clearance is important to ensure that excessive wear does not take place).

If additional travel exceeds 1/16"... the WOT stop (behind the VST) can be adjusted to achieve appropriate travel. This adjustment is BEST made while monitoring throttle position on the Computer Diagnostic System (or a DDT).
