The trim on my 1990 Rude is making an awful racket at times. Usually when you first hit the trim button it's loud, bump it a couple of times and it quiets down. Could there be air in the system and if so how do you bleed the system? Should I replace the trim fluid? Thanks, DG

To check the trim fluid tilt the motor up fully and remove the drain/fill screw, if fluid runs out it is full.
To bleed the air out try this, trim the motor down on a block of wood, release the manual release valve, press and hold the up trim button (the motor should not move) for 30 seconds, then hit the trim down button for 30 seconds, tighten the manual release valve and see if that helps.
