    Thanks Don!

I had an issue with a Smartcraft System Monitor not powering up. After talking to Mr. Don and running a slew of diagnostic test he told me I had an issue with my purple ignition switch wire at some point from the key switch back to the motor in the harness. Low and behold I pull the Ignition switch out and see a bad spot within 6 inches where it connects into the harness. Cut it out, spliced it back and we are now back in business!

I appreciate him taking his time to talk and walk me through the test. I am sure he thinks I am slowest resistance reader known to man. Its hard to hold the phone, the two leads and rotate your head to look at the display!

    Thanks again!

Thanks Trashy, you were def. right. The man is a wealth of outboard knowledge and kind enough not to be stingy with it.

Good seeing you yesterday too. Hopefully the next time I see you we will be backing the boats in the water!

    Thomas:

Glad to hear you were able to correct the problem.

On a side note... I can assure you that you were MUCH speedier in your ability to provide meter readings than the "average" DIY'er.

Thanks for being my hands, eyes and ears- it makes determination of the problem go MUCH quicker.
