    long winded question for don

    hello don,
I have about 50 or so hours on my 2006 225 opti. I have had the engine for going on my third year now. When I picked it up, it had about 12 hrs on it. I put about 20 hrs/yr on the engine and I run the seafoam, quickclean, marine sta-bil concoction all the time. At what point, if necessary, should I consider having my injectors cleaned and calibrated?
Can i pull my fuel rails and send them to you to have this done? I'm under the impression that this should be part of routine maintenance and may not be done often enough, which may also be a leading factor in cylinder meltdown, should one (injector) fail during operation..??
    thanks as always

Re: long winded question for don (hookahawg)

There is no "written" recommended interval for injector (or direct injector) cleaning.

Personally, I would recommend it at least once every 4 years (max).

You could certainly send your rails.... or better yet, JUST the injectors (less hassle with shipping since you can ensure they're COMPLETELY dry and void of fuel vapor that way).

I would recommend sending ALL 12 injectors (6-fuel, 6-direct injectors).... and NUMBERING them (1-3-5 on STB or right side, 2-4-6 on PORT or Left side).

A separate flow report would be provided (with BEFORE and AFTER results) on each set of six.
