    Winter Series in NWA

Thinking about putting on a winter series at Swepco Lake(the hot lake) in Gentry, AR near Siloam Springs. We did this a couple years ago as a jackpot every other Sat. This year We may do something a little different....have a $25 membership fee for each team and then $40 for each tournament which would be held every other Sat. Here's the good part, we will be keeping up with points and the top 10 teams will fish a no-entry fee championship in which I have gotten sponsorship money of at least $1000 and possibly more....if just $1000 then we would do something like $700 for 1st and $300 2nd but if more it could be interesting. I need some feedback on this deal though guys, who's interested???

    Honest feedback?

The idea sucks.....way to small of a lake for that shit.

    Fish Beaver.

Ok, yes I want honest feedback. I would do Beaver if we had enough interested. The only reason I said Swepco is because we did it a couple years ago and it was pretty fun actually. It did get crazy a couple times when we had like 60+ boats one Sat. and then 40 another...most of time we had like 20-30. Lets hear some more feedback. Beaver?? Swepco?? maybe even both?? Championship could even be 2 day with one day being on Swepco and one on Beaver. Just thinking it through..

    Again, the Swepco idea sucks.

There's nothing fun about 40-60 boats on a lake that small. All your doing is ruining a resource that (imho) should be used for the weekend angler, older folks, people with kids, etc. Nothing cool about guys like us who are fortunate enough to have big boats bombarding a small ecosystem like Swepco. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy going over there a couple times each winter, but jesus man, you can't just continue to rape a place like that to death.

    Why not just fish Beaver?

There's already a winter circuit that fishes every other Sunday.

I agree, way too small of a lake for that. It gets crowded enough already.

Re: Winter Series in NWA (reeldeal)

Ok so no Swepco...got that ot of the way, I know that there is one on Beaver right now on Sundays but alot of guys I know can't fish on Sun. so would there be any interest for Sat.? I think this would be a sweet deal because of the no-entry championship.

Would you have all of them going out of one ramp or would you alternate ends of the lake?

I would vote for the Beaver Deal on SAT.
I believe there is already some small jackpots on Swepco. Ive fished several and it does get VERY crowded.

I would also vote for all Tournys out of Prairie Creek.

    Let me know the details.

Hey Champ/Ronnie, I guess we can try to alternate ends. Maybe do 12 Bridge(easier to get in and out and not such a long idle???) and Hickory.

Any of you guys can give me a shout too if ya like, 479-502-0194

Re: Winter Series in NWA (matt_pennington)

Hey Matt. I would probably be interested in fishing another winter series on Beaver. I just commited to fish the team winter series also. As far as Hamilton went I think I would have rather stayed home and worked. I missed moving on by three tenths of an ounce. Slowest fishing I have ever done. Fished 4 spots Friday and 3 on Saturday. Lost 3 keepers Friday only weighed 4 fish and never lost a fish Saturday just has about 6 short fish. So that tells you how poor the fishing was. No big fish just 4 fish one day 4 fish the next. Mean while they are catching 20lbs a day on Ouachita!
