    Little Local evening tournaments.

Regarding these little local, weekly, evening tournaments. Example: There are several on Dardanelle. Weeknight tournaments, 6:00 to 9:00 etc. (probably a few on most all the lakes...well, Except Monticello )

Guys, if you fish these, or run one. You might want to get on your computer and find a set of tournament rules from one of the larger trails, Adjust this for you needs, print up a bunch, and throw em in your glovebox. Hand one to everybody that pays an entry fee. A decent set of scales wouldn't hurt anything either.

Had a dead fish last night and couldn't weigh it. (no rules, didn't know that)
Can't cull a dead fish, but, doubt anybody else knows that's just a No-No.
Couldn't tell which of our four live fish was biggest, so, they weighed each one. Total of our individual fish was MORE than the four combined???
Tie for big bass, and nobody knew what to do...no rules for this circumstance.

We were all friends and it all worked out fine, BUT, Mighta been different any other evening.
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

I don't agree with the "don't weigh a dead fish thing" Even with the no cull rule you know there are many that don't ever make it to the ramp. I don't mind a small peonalty to "encourage" everyone to do everything they can to keep them alive. I think 99% already attempt to do that. Most of us never try to intentionally kill one. At least if they are allowed to be weighed someone can take it home from the ramp and not totally waste it.

I second that....the only thing "no dead fish" encourages is dropping that dead fish out the side of the boat. I have been fortunate enough to have only killed one fish over the past several years, and we got a .5lb penalty for it...

I agree. It only encourages culling of a dead fish.
Which, many times is not addressed in tournament "rules".

It's a law, but, many don't know that.
And, many don't know that breaking a law is automatic DQ. (which again, is not stated clearly in lots of tournament rules)
