Turned from a lake with fish in it, back to Ouachita... JUST in time for the weekend.
And what a weekend it was...
I have an air matress we use for camping. It's fine and sleeps fine. Not sure why I don't just leave it in the truck. Seeing as how this is the THIRD time in two years out room had a matress with a hole in the middle. (you lay down and have to fight not to roll to the center).
Neither of us slept A WINK Friday night. Oh, well, no sleep Friday means dog ass tired after a tournament, and we knew NOTHING would keep us awake Saturday night.
Couldn't find my big fish Saturday. Caught and caught and ALL fish the same size.
Oh well, Sunday's a new day, maybe with some rest and a fresh start....I'll find that school of HAWGS again.
Layed down at 9:00. Looked at the clock at 10:30 and finally....I was snoozin'.
11:00 Sharon wakes me up in tears and 12:00 we are sitting in the emergency room. 3:45 we are back in bed. IF "wanna be" doctor is correct, Sharon has a kidney stone and is on some awsome drugs.
She decides I should fish, and she thinks she will be fine for 8hrs. And get some sleep. I decide to go ahead and fish due to not wanting to let somebody down. (WEE bit of tournament pressure was applied Friday evening).
No sleep, by myself...I have three fish in the ALL OUT, NOT EVEN CLOSE, HANDS DOWN Winning tournament HAWG size... pull loose on three casts. (two crankbait and one drop shot). I found the school and just couldn't get em within reach of a net...not that I had a net, but, all pulled loose 10ft from the boat.
With a tear in my eye, I weighed in my little fishies, got my wife, and headed to the house with my tail superglued tween my legs....Probably $2000 poorer than I left the house with.![]()
