    Times are a changin!!!!

    ESPN Outdoor programming: gone 5/21/2010
    BassFan received confirmation early today that ESPN and its broadcast networks, notably ESPN2, will no longer offer outdoor-related programming starting in calendar year 2011. One exception: The Bassmasters will continue to air on ESPN2, as will the Bassmaster Classic.

    The ramifications are immense and the news is just beginning to percolate through the industry.

    When asked about the decision, a BASS/ESPN official told BassFan: "It’s in line with ESPN’s decision to focus on event-based and live programming. The weekend block will be filled by some other properties, such as English Premier League soccer, NASCAR and SportsCenter, which are all either live or event-based programs. The outdoors, save BASS programming, doesn't fit that."

    Watch for further reporting on this news, as well as further comments from BASS and ESPN, throughout the day.

    I find it amusing that they stated that the rating weren't very good...but yet they air the shows at like 6am on Saturdays and Sunday mornings....exactly when the people that would be watching would be out fishing/hunting...

    That really sucks!!! I really enjoyed the WGFS so I hope it goes to another network.

    Hey now, I know you guys are busting my chops, but you really should take a little time to learn about some of the EPL clubs, and check out a few games. EPL matches are known worldwide as some of the best sporting events out there. Of course, their season just ended, so you have plenty of time to read up and pick a couple clubs to follow next season.

    That being said, I do like Zona's show, and hope somebody picks it up..........the others, I could care less about.
