Whats the things a co-angler should keep in mind? Can you guys give a few suggestions?
How many rods?
One or two tackle bags?
Drinks & Snacks?
What expenses should he share, fuel ect ?

I took 4 rods/reels. One tackle bag. My life jacket and a small lunch bag with my food (that I didn't eat).
I gave the boater $20 for gas but he didn't want it at all.
Be ready when the boater says time to move. Don't step in the seats. Treat the boat like your own. Don't throw ahead of the boater.
Me and my boater got along great and I must have been a good partner because he told me to give him a call to go fishing for fun.
Thanks, I found the same topic in General Topics.

Unfortunately, I show nobody my spots (other than my tourny partner) on Catherine. Too tough of a lake and too many worthless fishing spots to give up my good ones.....![]()
I take 6 rods, and a big tackle bag...most of the time......
I usually just take a bottle something that they usually let you put in thier cooler....
I usually give 40 for gas...NO ONE has ever turned it down...HAHA

Speaking of netting your boater's fish....During my last BFL, my boater hooks up with one and says "I got it" when I was ready to net his fish and he goes to lift it and it turns out to be a 4+lber and it pops off as he is lifting it. That one fish cost him about $1500 b/c he didn't let me net it....![]()

Needless to say, he let me net the rest...
Yeah i always ask the boater...yes or no before the day starts...that way there is no confusion in crunch time... they usually say...well see what happens...that means they are seeing how "competent" you are and they think you wont lose thier fish...
Yeah all my boaters have more than helped out netting my fish...NOT LIKE THEY HAD MUCH TO DO..![]()
