Update on the Commercial Marina Issue..

From the State Federation meeting Sunday, we recieved a report from head fisheries biologist Colton Dennis. He informed us at the meeting that the restrictions on fishing Commercial marina property has been expanded to not only include the area 50' from the gas pumps and marina store and shop area, but also all marina owned storage. This greatly expands the effected areas, and in some cases can shut down access to areas behind the marinas in creeks and such when the water is low. The way this reads right now, if you are within the 50' boundry and are not a customer of the marina, you are trespassing. The corps is refusing to work with us on this issue, and is doing everything they can to shut our voice out of the process. The AGFC is currently not going to enforce this, but that is subject to change. Please contact our national reps and senators to voice your opinions on this issue.

I can cast 50ft with a tailwind.
(Well, only if I re-spool 1st. Home lake is Dardanelle. Very seldom do I have 50ft on a spool.....)

That REEEEAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYY SUCKS!!

Even if its an unwritten rule that it wont be enforced, if you are fishing a tourney you will still be considered "out fo bounds". And if the Warden that comes up to check you is having a bad day or he doesnt like the color of your boat, you could still get a ticket.

Thats about the only places I fish during a night tourney.

Marty, the only lakes/rivers affected by this are the ones controlled from the Little Rock District. Which covers the Arkansas River and North. The lakes down yalls way are controlled by the Vicksburg, MS office and they dont have a ruling like this..yet.

Even though I dont fish those waters, it still SUCKS!!!! I will send in a letter. The more they hear about it, the less likely it will be to go through. If it passes, it will just be a matter of time before it gets down this way.

So...does the submarine and all that crap in the LR pool fall into this? I've caught quite a few fish between the submarine and the rock bank throwing a buzzbait down the edge. Is there a link somewhere that gives the full rundown of this? Also, does anybody know what spurred this on?

Appears it's you cannot FISH around these places. Cannot cast fishing tackle as it says. Seems like a screwy deal to me.
