just triple check placement........make sure your drain tube for water is piped to an area that will drain.......on the placement deal, make sure if you stand up and fish that it is where you are comfortable doing so.......if you sit and fish a lot, it will likely need to be farther from the seat base.......my 21XRD is an earlier '08 model and it is too close to the pole for anything but stand-up fishing and it's almost too close for that...........a few months after they made mine, the started moving them forward moreoh, and measure 4 times and cut once!!!!

it will be one of the best things you have ever done for your back if you stand up and fish![]()

On a 20xd a recessed trolling motor tray can be installed between the cross braces without cutting any cross braces if you measure from underneath first.. Lift the center lid and shine a light in there and you will see the cross braces... Measure the location of the cross braces from the back of the compartment opening to determine where the tray will fit between the braces. It is best to situate the tray as close to the front brace as possible to make sure your trolling motor wires will still reach... good luck and enjoy the tray...![]()
I just installed a comfortroll in my 97 20xd. I don't know if the xrd is the same but I measured 23 inches from the center of the seat pedestal toward the front of the boat and missed the brace. It worked out perfect.
Just a little info I am 5'8" I sit alot I like mine 18" infront of the pole.
Measure with a micrometer, mark it with a crayon, and cut it with a chainsaw.
I did mine, easy to do, just take your time.
Best tip i can give you is everything you cut, get some resin and resin all your cuts up and let it dry before putting the tray in. That way everything is sealed good.
What Jeremy said, measure 10 times and cut once.If ya need a tray holler I sell those to.
