21xd with a merc 250 efi?

got a guy who wants to trade me my 99, 280 for his 99, 250efi w/tmaster lu.
what do you guys think?
what kinda numbers could i expect and what about mileage?

A standard Merc 250 efi just don't seem to make the power and can be difficult to prop with the low rev limiter.

I remember going to the Bullet factory one time and there were and couple setting there in the box. I asked about it. I will just say the response was not very positive about it's performance

With that said, if we are talking 3L, you can lighten the flywheel, reflash the ECU and lift the limter and the heads can be cut. That should put you in the 275 to 300 HP area....But it will be thirsty.

If you are thinking about modding then I would have a quick talk with Eric Simon. If I recall correctly, he told me that the 250efi is a better platform to build on than the 300x is (for his work anyway), I cant recall why, but I do recall the comment in one of our talks.

Because its never been clarified, is the motor is a 250XB or a standard 250EFI.... Makes a big difference. Just as Lou stated the 250EFI is a bear to prop on a bass boat config due to low limiter and weaker power....The XB was almost meant for a 21 Bullet....Great pairing!

The guy has a 250 EFI I believe. I would NOT trade for an EFI but if it was an XB I would trade in a heartbeat!!!!

The only way I would trade for it is if you were going to build a "Monster Motor" out of it. NO WAY would I put it on the boat in stock form......
