    225 Pro Xs Altenator

Anyone having problems with altenators on 225 pro XS's?
Mine does not keep up the charge on my battery again. This is the second altenator on this 2010 motor, at ilde it's putting out only around 12-13 volts. I believe it should be closer to 13.9 volts. Is this correct. LAst altenator had bad diode even though motor was a new out of the bow replacement motor.

If you're having repeat alternator problems, I'd suggest checking ALL of the following:

-LOAD TEST the battery to confirm it's condition and capacity

-CHECK/CLEAN battery cable connections AT BATTERY (must be secured with LOCKNUTS)

-CHECK/CLEAN battery cable connections AT ENGINE (including ground cable)

-CHECK/TEST Red Alternator Output (Fusable Link) Lead. Ensure it's connected TIGHT and connections are CLEAN.

-REMOVE and CLEAN the terminal ends for the GROUND CABLE to the alterntor.

-Ensure that the RED JUMPER (near the oil pump) is connected at it's bullet connector.

Your "engine running" voltage should normally be somewhere in the 12.9-13.7 VDC range.

Thanks Don, and for a little more info. I posted a while back about this motor and the one prior having a idle problem. So far the fix was to re-flash the computer with a new program but I don't think it is authorized as of yet.
