Mercury's New Fuel System Care Products

Mercury has changed (and simplified) their fuel system care product line.

New products are numbered 1-2-3, with a clear description of the products use. Details below:

    1. "Mercury Quickare": Everyday fuel treatment to help prevent corrosion, gum, and phase separation associated with Ethanol Blended Fuels. Keeps fuel fresh between fillups.

    2. "Mercury Quickleen": For regular use throughout the boating season. Removes carbon deposts from carburetors, injectors, spark plugs, piston crowns and cylinder heads. Extends spark plug life. This product DOES NOT stabilize fuel, and should be used in conjunction with a fuel stabilizer, OR "Mercury Quickare".

    3. "Mercury Quickstore": Add to fuel before storing boat. Prevents degration and break-down of both ethanol and non-ethanol fuels during storage. Prevents fuel system corrosion. Helps to keep injectors and carbs lubricated during storage.

    Don,
When will the Quickare be available & how much will it cost?

I use my boat year around. Right now, I am using Marine Stabil & Quickleen with every gallon of gas. Any advantage to going with Quickare & Quickleen instead?

BTW, I got the parts I ordered from you. Thanks for the great & friendly service.

We've ordered some already, and should have it in within a week or so.

Pricing should be available at that time.

The primary advantage would be that you're using Mercury Products, designed with your engine in mind.

Don: Given these new products would you give any suggested modifications to your "Cocktail" mix ? I assume you don't have any motor findings to compare things too at this point but any thoughts???

    Thanks

As stated.... I'm HOPING that this will prove as a good alternative. TESTING needed for comparison (the new products aren't even shipping until mid-month).

This mix has been successful for me too, good question, Eli. Thanks Don. I'm sure you will keep us posted on the results of the new products.

Re: Mercury's New Fuel System Care Products (EuropeanAM)

Pricing doesn't look that bad actually. IIRC, I paid approx $8 for the 8oz bottle of Marine Stabil. Basically a wash as far as cost per gallon between the two.

IIRC, the marine stabil uses the same ratio of product to gas. 1/2oz/5 gallons or as mercury has it 1oz/10 gallons.
