    API TC versus tcw-3

I have been using API TC oil in my race snowmobile engines after I read that BRP did not recommend TCW-3 in its PWCs or snowmobiles, stating that tcw-3 oils were not adequate for the increased rpm and piston ring temps that these engines operate at..This prompted me to do a lot of research (google) about tcw-3 versus API-TC and I found that the API -TC is a higher spec oil... Seeing as how DFI outboard engines , such as my 250 XS run hot ring temps would the higher spec 2 cycle API- TC oils like BRP XPS semi-synthetic or Lucas Semi-Synthetic be better for DFI engines that see a lot of full throttle ?

Re: API TC versus tcw-3 (canadablazer)

I will not recommend ANY oil other than what is specified by the manufacturer.

Most of these 3L engines are equipped with an ELECTRIC oil pump, and the calibration/setup was done for a SPECIFIC oil in mind.
