My 99 20xd is no different than any other. I hate my live wells because I can't see the fish in them. Does anyone have any ideas of how to brighten it up. Is it fiberglass or plastic and could I gel coat it with white. Frustrated !!! Mike

You can put a light in it. There is a light made to go on the bottom of your livewell, that should help lots.

TRUST ME HERE!!!!!! I fish night tourney's A LOT and had the same problem. My fix was CHEAP (my favorite kind) and effective!!!!!!!! Get you a white shower mat (the kind that goes in the bottom of a shower/tub with the little suction cups on the bottom). I got a large one and cut it down to fit. Stick it in the bottom of the livewell and it works GREAT!!!!!!
Do you have a website or something I could check. If not I will get divorced because I will stay on the internet 24/7 till I find the right one. I'm that way. My wife says it's a two edged sword. Thanks
Did you use any silicone or anything to keep it down. Thanks ...
I got mine at Walmart or K-Mart. Get the one with the little suction cups on the bottom of it. It stays good. You will need to clean it ever so often but it is not often enough to be a hastle!!!!! I am lazy enough that if it was a hastle I would have chit-canned it a long time ago!!!!!![]()
Thanks ... sounds like a plan to me. Easier is better.
sounds like a good ideathink i might try it myself

Mike, do you keep in the livewell the entire time ???
I use the rubber marine squares from Boat Owners warehouse I leave them in all the time I found that the larger Bass will knock the shower mats loose ...... no silicone or suction cups on these squares inter-lock and are heavy enough to stay down![]()

Where do you guys fish??? My livewells are white but the tidal waters or tannic waters I fish are dark! I also have led lights but that doesnt help me to see the fish. I never realized this was a problem until I read this post...![]()
Rob, My livewell is black as is a lot of other Bullet owners. I also fish brackish water but in the Louisiana and Mississippi marsh areas. I use tags like most people but ... without that tag. It's like looking into a black hole. Go get em in the tidal water. Mike
Seems like with this being a problem for alot of people bullet would just build them white,is there a reson they dont??
Never seen any official documentation, but I have heard that the black has some sort of calming effect on the fish..........maybe someone else can back me up on that, or maybe I should just go back to sleep...........

Might very well, doesn't do much for the health of the owner trying to get fish out...![]()
