what would cause motor (first run of day)to be running good top-end for 20 seconds or so then hesitate or bog for second then pick back up and keep doing that until next run? nichols marine (SCOTT SC.) said it prob. was ethanol!!would that be what it might be??????????? :

Doubt it,, There have been a lot of boat motors run on this and the only real effects have been a little slower top end and less MPG since ethonal don't burn as well..

Is there any chance your hitting rev limiter, have ya checked the water seperator, does the primer bulb staying hard??
Could be a fuel supply issue..
def not rev limiter!no bulb!haven't checked seperator!!! thanks didn't think was ethanol!!
If you find the answer to this, please post. My engine did the exact same thing on the first run Sat morning, then ran fine the rest of the weekend. I will be taking mine in for analysis.
