    Merc 280 and a Bravo I

Till today I thought I was the luckiest person alive. I'd cracked a couple of older Predator Eagles, but never a Mercury prop. Well.......I had three guys on lake lice (jet skis) come into the canal I was fishing and I thought......hmmmm I'd like to play with the Turbo Honda Ski and see how bad ass it was. My buddy that was with me thought it would be cool to race the lake lice aswell, so......around 73-75 was all the turbo ski could run. (BTW what happens if you fall off that thing at that speed?????) OUCH + some

....continuing along, I let off the petal around 90 cause my partner wasn't to happy with the white caps we where topping and immediately I noticed a lot of vibration and told him that I thought I hurt the prop. As you can see I did.

What do you have laying around? I've got a 26 4 blade Spinelli that looks like a trophy, but that's it.

25 3 blade TXP with vent holes, minor dings, 30 et, 31 bravo, 28 Bullet cut Performer(my back up fishing prop), 29 Mirage that is all I can think of

Trash has the 30BC performer, think he wants to buy it..

You can't hide speed and horsepower.

I might have a few props you might like. I may sell some to free up some money to buy some more.

Re: Merc 280 and a Bravo I (Largemouthlou)

I'm looking at another Bravo I and hoping I can make that happen. I have another boat I can fish outta, but Mikes right, speed and hp=RPM.....a props worst enemy.

I'll be fine with this 26, but thanks Lou for the offer. I do want to try that ET someday.

Re: Merc 280 and a Bravo I (TarheelXRD)

    @ Dell,

So lets see 3 guys in the boat you alone weigh a good 250 so how much did the other guys weigh in at?? 90mph and running white caps which means loading and unloading on them ears plus some high revs... Hmmmm Do you think a prop could fail under them conditions Nahhhhh

Get you another Bravo Plus it looks like that prop has some surface rust on it.. Just how old was that thing. Di d Noah run it on the Ark????

James, you keep pushing them Hydromotives... What have they done for you over a Bravo?

Anyone have a 28 or a 30" Hydromotive laying around that I can run?? I want to compare in to my Bravo and see if its any better

Re: Merc 280 and a Bravo I (Hydrilla)

Just two of us at that weight and I have no idea why the rust never came outta the lettering....it came that way from Marks. I'm looking at one on a Red Bullet that parked a little bit futher south...gonna be mine if it sits around to much longer.

The Hydro's have a little bit better top end box stock vs. box stock....at least that's what I've heard, but they didn't carry a load well in the Bullet I'm talking about.

Geez you guys must be in a bad mood today. I didnt say they were better than a Bravo I have never ran a Bravo. YOu got one you want to send me. I just said I have never heard of one cracking but under those conditions you are probably right nothing would hold up long

If it's the boat I think you're talking about, you're correct. My Hydromotive runs great with me by myself, but really falls off with me and a partner. It loses about 6 to 6 1/2 mph with the weight of a second person added.

James, I just sold my 30". I don't have a pitch that would run on your boat.

Ok, well see what these Bravo's are made of. I just won a 26p on E-bay....That should put me and a partner near 8,000 fishing loaded. I'm sending it to Mark, what should I tell him to do besides dual PVS holes?

Re: Merc 280 and a Bravo I (FL Dell)

You might have Mark pitch it to a 27.... I had Mark do one for me like that. It was nice. I have owned a few 26P models and I ran 79 on the limiter.

Have Mark look at the cupping. New ones have some, old ones don't.
