    high 70s attainable?

ok guys i've asked this question before, but a bit different this time around. so i've been in the omc thread asking if my current 2000 225 HO johnny engine is worthy enough. i'm really thinking about just keeping it since i have it already and just gettiing a bullet hull. really need to get higher 70s without killing my lower unit and it's guts. a guy there mentioned the omc LU suxs when surfacing too much....so i'd say no more then 2" below pad probably could do for my high 70 mph expectations.

    what are your guys' thoughts?

    hulls for sale?

depends on which hull you choose, but I think low 70's is feasible..........my fishing buddy has a 201 Cobra with a 2000 Johnson 225 on it and it will GPS 73

    runs great in my opinion

Have the outer bearing pinned, jack it up. Ran one that way for 9 years with no LU failures.

High 70's on a 20 footer, and low to mid on a 21

yeah, that's what i was thinking too. 20ft would be the best choice. seems like the 20 ft gains a 4-6mph difference vs. the 21ft. been looking at different setups and that's what it looks like.

so it may be a 20footer bullet
