yeah. it's my brother's boat.being a 93 it was the one of the last one's made and extremely clean. we were out this morning putting some break-in time on the motor. its a jay smith horn motor on a drag mid. supposed to make 300+ on 180lbs of compression but so far it's only had pump gas heads on it[IMG][/IMG]

    Sweet ride man

Why is the starboard side water line plugged off?????? What kind of water pressure are you gettin with that engine? The reason I ask is I have a JSRE 260 on the same mid and can only get about 5-7 psi. I think some one done some work to my mid, but it doesn't get hot and dumps water like a garden hose. I thought I had the wrong restrictor plates in but they are factory.

it's a steel sleeve motor so the cooling is changed up from a nic motor. plugging off some of the water helps build heat in the motor. water temps are around 150 i think.

sorry. you asked water pressure. when i was in it yesterday it was around 10 at 3200rpm's. if your's isn't running hot i wouldn't mess with it

Oh, just thought you knew something that I didn't.

It isn't getting hot, the hottest I seen was 116 degrees and that was after about a 30 mile run and the last mile was about 8000 rpm. I checked it often because I was worried. I was just used to seein about 20 psi I even ran it with the cowl off and my buddy shooting the temp while settin in the back seat.

20xdbake sounds like you got yours running good. i'll let ya'll know how the little bullet does after the rain quits here and we can get it back on the water. he's going easy on it after scuffing a piston in it at the end of last summer. i drove it briefly last year and can tell you that it's a helluva ride. when i came in kevin asked me if i got it to 6000 and hit it, i said i never even saw 6000 . he laughed and said it doesn't even get good till after that. i think he saw 8400 and ran it another 5 to 10 seconds past that but was too busy to look at the tach. that was with a bullet cut chopper that works out to a 25 or 26 pitch. trying to get it ready for some eighth mile action at lake buhlow down here in louisiana in 3 weeks. i have a feeling this boats days are limited. he wants another allison. one more pic[IMG][/IMG]

Yea, I'd be real interested in the boat as well. I tried to buy one a few months ago and it sold the day before I could call him back.

Slap a 22 Yamaha Drag on it, and you should be about right where you need to be to run a quarter.

Re: here's one ya'll will like (racerkvn)

i don't know which allison he'll end up with. he had an xr2001 but i know he doesn't want another one. it'll be an xb2002 or an xr2002. if he decides to sell i'll post it here. he's been driving my xr2002 a little and ya'll know there's nothing like them. he bought a 22 drag brand new the other day but doesn't know if he wants to spend another 225 to have ronnie gilbert work it. hasn't been on the boat yet

I would also be very interested if he decides to sell or trade the boat. Thanks.

Re: here's one ya'll will like (waterloo)

no fishing from this one . we thought it was a real shame that somebody along the line drilled it for a trolling motor. if he were to get rid of it and the new owner turned it into a regular fishing boat that ends up getting beat up i wouldn't want to know about it. there's alot of everyday boats to fish out of but these boats are getting hard to come by. there's probably not more than two or three in this shape.
