Gents I am getting a flashing engine and bell symbol on my smartcraft guage when I am at idle. I have a 200HP Optimax. I took it to the dealer twice and got different answers. Has anyone seen this before?

This is an indication of a sensor problem (or a PCM "Fault").
A printout of the Run History and Freeze Frame (Fault) History will show what fault has occurred.
What are your engine temps at idle?![]()

Between 129-131 with lake water temp of 81 degrees. My water pressure seems to be a little low also. I had them check to make sure there was no trash around the thermostat. 1.3 on PSI at Idle.
If your engine is new and still in break-in mode, the bell and engine symbol will flash until break-in is complete.
If not, the flashing is telling you there is a code in your computer that needs to be looked at and cleared by a dealer.

Lee may be correct here. All of the High-Perf Optimax calibrations now include this feature.... and it's being added to calibrations as they are being redone.
Assuming you're following the break-in recommendations printed in your owner's manual, this fault would automatically cure within 1.25-2.00 hours.
How many hours do you have on your engine????

I have a 100 hours on my engine now. They (Dealer) have plugged the computer up to it and there is nothing showing up. It only happens at idle after I have run a distance. First thing in the morning, it runs smooth and no problems. After running, it has a sputter to it at idle. It is at the dealer now.

Request a printout of the "Freeze Frame (FAULT) History". There likely won't be any currently active faults (unless the bell and engine icons are flashing).
However.... there WOULD be something stored in the Freeze Frame Buffers (which may lend clues to what's going on). I'd be happy to review the printouts for you (via email) if you'd like.....![]()
