    First Coil Fail

Well... I have a 07 250 ProXS and I can finally say that I am now part of the ignition coil failure group. 205 hours and coil #1 failed.

Now the big question is, when are the rest of them going to go. 9th time in the shop.... all separate/different fails.

Talked to my Yamaha dealer and it looks like there will be a new 250SHO in my very near future.

    Re: First Coil Fail (Zimmer250XS)

Oh by the way... the number engraved in the failed coil was 2086 879984.

The number of the new coil is 300 879984T01 ignition coil (8M0042380). At least that is the part number on the box.

Is this a useless coil, or is it a new improved one?

    Engine serial# 1B462826

This would be the NEW coil.

Did you ask your dealer to reference (and actually READ) Service Bulletin 2009-26?

    Re: First Coil Fail (EuropeanAM)

I was unaware of this bulletin until now.

It doesnt seem like anyone is able to see what the bulletin actually says. Are the dealers able to excess this literature? Were do I direct them to view it?

    Thanks,

    Trevor

Your dealer should be able to view the bulletin on MercNet.
