Venice West Side?

Guys,

I am off next week and want to get some fishing in.....and catching. Is Venic worth going to if I don't run the river? (stay on west side). I've been down river and know how good it is but I don't plan making that run. Not asking for spots becuause i've fished the west side as well just not nearly as much.
