i haven't been to Disney since you had to use tickets to get on the rides.
Our neighbors used to go around x-mas, they saidit was a great time to go. We are going when the kids get out of school for summer break

went 2 years ago just before Christmas , it is very nice lots of decorations and Christmas parades ! I just booked our trip for Jan. we fly out on the 1st and return on the 6th.
We are going Dec 10th for about 8 days. The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is suppose to be the best time to go.
Do Work !
Went to Disney back in oct. of 09 and it was great. Perfect weather and not very crowded. The weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas are two of the most crowded of the year. They do pull out all the stops on Christmas decoration though. Have fun.

Disneyworld didn't become a Pay-one-Price park until the early 80's (82 I think). Before that you would pay a general adminssion price, then you had to use tickets to get on rides.
Most tickets were sold in what Disney called Adventure Ticket Books. They contained the transportation ticket, an admission ticket and a varying amount of individual ride tickets. Most rides at that time required a separate individual ride ticket that was identified on a letter scale from "A" to "E"

The tamest rides in the park, such as the Main Street Vehicles or Cinderella's Golden Carrousel, required an "A" ticket. The best rides (cutting edge at the time) like Jungle Cruise or 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea required an "E" ticket.
I haven't been to Disneyworld since 80 and Disneyland since 79. We prefer theme parks with more intense rides such as Cedar Point in Ohio.

We have been the first full week of December. It is after the Thanksgiving crowd and before the Christmas crowd. It is one of the best times to go. Short lines and great weather.![]()
