Installed new Mercury 225 Pro XS on 2005 Ranger Z20 with Mercury Smart Guage. The guage displayed a bell symbol with an engine symbol when motor was first started. No warning horn. Temperature running 120 to 135. Water pressure 15PSI @ 3500RPM's. Engine is in break in stage. Under 2 hours.

I had no such symbol during my break in period with my Opti/Smart Craft last year...

I had it with mine until the break in was done. At least that is how my feeble mind remembers it:)
This is an indication that the engine's PCM is still in Break-In mode.

Or one or two of the compressor 3 wire temp sensor bullet connectors at the top port side have became unplugged....don't ask how I know.

Thanks to everyone for the quick response. The dealer that rigged the motor wasn't familar with the guage.
