    Choupic

I was looking through the fishing regulations and noticed that there is a 16 inch minimum length on choupic. I did not know that. Can you imagine the grief you would have to put up with if you had to come on here and tell everyone you got a ticket for a short choupic.

And just like redfish, the 12 or 13 inch ones are the best eating, but you can't keep them.

Believe it or not they had to do this cuz the one that fish em for their eggs(caviar)
was getting close to whipping them out.

I remember that. They were catching the big females, cutting out the eggs and throwing the rest of the fish back.

dang barry, bringing up eating the nastiest fish in the water again you can have all the Grennal you want... they should put a bounty on them like nutria rats, instead of a limit.

    Re: Choupic (BARRY J)

A good friend of mine recently moved to Vacherie with his girlfriend and said the other day some of his friends asked him if he wanted to go try catch some choupic...He said he asked them what's a choupic? and they all were saying "oh it's the best fish there is to eat" so he was all pumped up about catching some fish he's never heard of. Then he said the first one they caught and put in the boat that they were all hollering and he said, "WTF...that's a damn Grennal! I ain't eating that nasty mother%&(*$!"
