    Hey Doug

I know you've said on here before, but what kind of stuff do you use for buffing boats?

    Re: Hey Doug (timmaahh12)

3m perfect it 3000 extra cut compound, 3m finesse it finish material compound, 1000 grit, 1200 grit and 1500 grit wet or dry sand paper, 7" buffer and a 3" buffer with wool padsw, white waffle pads and black waffle finishing pads. Tim honestly you will spend about 150-200 in materiLS IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY, to do it the way i do and if you gotta buy a buffer a cheap habour freight POS isa about 60 bucks i think. Probably get your boat done for just a lil more without having to touch it. If you decide to do it yourself call me first as you can do more harm than good if you mess it up. Call me and i will walk you thru it

i dont mind talkin him tru it but he needs to be aware there are risk as you can do damage with a buffer. i been usin them 25 years and have messed up a time or two that cost me time and money. But 2-3 times i caused myself extra work out of i would say 300 boats i have scuffed and buffed aint to bad. And nobdy but me ever knew i even did it.

Tim bring your tight wad ass down here and let Doug do your boat. It will be cheaper in the long run.

Shoooot....I won't EVER be able to keep up with them 3! Hell, throw you in the mix and ya'll would be able to feed China for a year and still have money left over to fill up ya'lls trucks and boat on the way to the ramp!!!

And in regards to the 'buffing stuff' .... I know you have a process you do, but I really don't wanna do any sanding. Really just wanted to do a good buff job on the top cap and good coat of wax to make it shine a little better... There are a couple of spots that need it, and some parts that really don't need it. Just thought I might could buff/wax it good to make it a consistent shine all over and rejuvenate it a bit.

    Re: Hey Doug (timmaahh12)

If you aint gonna sand it first it will fade back soon and be wasting your time !!!!!!!!!! JMHO It doesnt take that much longer to wet sand and buff and do the job right. Heck to me the worst part is the cleanup after buffing one

    Re: Hey Doug (DOUGMCGEEFTD)

    Doug,
What kinda money would you charge me if I hauled the 'ole champ over for a wet sanding and supervision on the buffing/waxing? Kinda wanting to shine it back up real good before or right after I sell it to my buddy.

I've done it before, but sounds like you're the local expert and just wanting her to look good before she goes off to her new home to make room for my next one.
