The Classic !!!

Who's goin , and where yall stayin ? I made the decision today that Im goin , and the wife wants to go with me !!!! Ive never been to a Classic , so I have no clue what to expect !!! Do I need to be there early at the launch , is there anything goin on there ? And how far is the expo from the launch , is it walking distance ? Also , is there gonna be anything for the Ol lady to do ???

Send the old Lady to tha mall! thats what i did last year! Im plannin on goin. I know once mine finds out that its in N.O. she will be plannin on it too

The launch is Bayou Segnette State Park. Probably not much going on there. I fished a Top 100 there a few years ago and the coolest thing was the service trucks on site. They had motor, troll motor and boat manufacturers trailers. I looked in the Mercury trailer and it was cool to see all the power heads and lower units lined up. If you had a trol motor problem, they would swap it out on site.

I would get a room at the Loews or Harrahs hotel and walk to the show. You could probably walk to the arena from there. I walked from a basketball game and it wasn't too far. You would have to drive to the launch.

Fat city is in Metairie. Back in the late 70's it was a bunch of bars. I think they are trying to make it more family friendly and open up restraunts and shops. There is a mall across Canal Street from the casino that keeps my wife busy for hours.

Gun' I know what you mean about stupid people in New Orleans. One of the reasons that I retired is working night shift in the French Quarter for about six months after Katrina. The biggest dumbass that comes to mind is the guy that said God told him to cut his nuts out of his nutsack and flush them.

Me n the wife are going just Saturday. Isn't the expo down by the river and the arena by superdome? The last classic that was there it was sit where you want. Which means get to the door before they open and stand in line as you know how that can get crazy.
