Goose Hunt ???

We're supposed to be making a goose hunt down in Geuydon thanksgiving week, I'll be taking my 10 Ga. and my 12 but was wondering what size shot do I need??? Never been so I don't have any idea what to bring. Thanks Jeff

It was #4 when we could use lead shot. With steel shot, BB or BBB. Hate to have to agree with Timmaahh.

Ok my bad, i thought you could still use lead for goose's... heck they let you do just about everything else..

Thanks for the help. Do ya'll think my old 12 with 2 3/4 in shells would be enough or do I need to find a shotgun with 3in capabilities???

Hardcore goose shooters like the 3 1/2 inch shells. #2 steel or composite loads like the Duck Commander line

I would try to find a shotgun with 3 1/2 capabilities if you can. The extra pellets and powder will make a big difference with those longer shots. I drilled a snow last year at 70 yds with 3 1/2 bb shot. Good luck and hope yall have a good time.

Im a hardcore duck hunter. 3in MAGnums at least. preferably 3 1/2in shells!!! BBB or F shot is also your best bet. I started shooting black cloud last year and those shells are the real deal!!! So I recommend black cloud or Remington Nitro magnums

Jeff, I have an 870 super mag you can borrow. It shoots 3 1/2. It's just sitting in the gun cabinet.

Thanks for the offer Kyle, I'm gonna get a cheap pump for the trip, I'll use it as a backup to my old 1400, according to most it's lasted longer than it should have.
