    Alarms at high speed

Guys Im getting an alarm at high speed today and want to know if anyone has ideas or suggestions? I was out getting ready for a trip and the boat fires up and ran great but was gettin an alarm at 5200 rpm and at 65mph. When I back it down a little it would quit. Boat water preasure was at 10 to 20 depending at rate of speed.

@ 10 lbs of water pressure it could be that you were going into guardian for over heat?

Or, even perhaps low water pressure specifically was the cause.

Next logical step is to get the engine on the Computer Diagnostic System, and have the "freeze frame (FAULT) history" read.... be sure to request a printout for future reference.

Was it a steady alarm?? Ck to be sure the on board oil reservoir is full to the top...

Guessing this just started, and your tach is correct??

Don, doesn't the guardian have to be reset (key on /off) when it hits low water pressure?

Two things have to occur to "reset" Engine Guardian:

-The fault that caused Guardian in the first place must "cease to exist"

-The throttle demand percentage must drop BELOW the "available power" (or Guardian Threshold).

Once both of the above are met.... the engine will continue to run normally.
